Candidatele la concursul "Miss Earth 2017" au fost prezentate presei luni la Manila Diamond Hotel. În timpul evenimentului, Miss Philippines Karen Ibasco a primit medalia de aur Darling of the Press, în timp ce Miss Thailand Paweensuda Drouin și Miss Zambia Abigail Chama au primit distincțiile de argint și, respectiv, bronz.
Tema ecologică a concursului de frumusețe, programată pe 4 noiembrie, se desfășoară sub auspiciile ONU. Câștigătoarea concursului este încoronat ca Miss Earth, în timp ce alte trei concurente primesc titlurile Miss Air, Miss Water și Miss Fire. Toate participantele trebuie să-și prezinte propriile proiecte internaționale, menite să protejeze mediul și să salveze fauna sălbatică.
